am..actually microsoft nevr releases xp sp3 edition....they did released sp3 for servers..but sp3 for pc were not release..any sp3 editon for pc is just simply modified sp2 from microsoft..even though this sp3's are microsoft platforms..these modified sp2 that they did call sp3's are just made by some organization with or without indirect connection to microsoft.....so technically specking sp3 edition for pc were not really release for pc...but base on sp2 edition...its good in performance for me compare to vista right now which still have bugs on its program...am my friend have tried using sp3 black edition..and by testimonial..he said that's its quite good...just a little bit heavier than normal sp2 which is the base platform of the os...so i guess it wud still be better to use than todays vista....besides technically speaking xp prof is still very expensive and complete compare to vista..not really sure bout the newest update of ultimate but i think using xp prof is still more reliable than using any vista of todays edition..... hope it helps...
