Hello, I am in a difficult situation. I have been in a relationship with a very sweet, caring, attentive girl for almost a month and a half. Throughout the relationship I ignored my heart which was telling me that this person is not that inspiring or challenging, yet settled for the companionship and comfort. There is nothing wrong with her approach to life, it's just that I have recognized that I too have lowered my energy level along with everything else, creativity, passion, goals. I never have tried to talk to her about it but it always ends with stating that I am unsatisfied and depressed and that maybe.... Although by being attracted to this other person, I now know that I emotionally (and physically) checked out of the relationship sometime ago. I know it is dishonest and hurtful to be unfaithful, which I already was. I need to remove myself from this relationship, which is harder to do since we talked rarely together, how can I ease this for everyone involved? It would be devastating to the person I was unfaithful to if she knew, but it makes so much sense. What now?
